Liberty Aviation Museum

Liberty Aviation Museum

Established in 1991, the Liberty Aviation Museum is now housed in a brand-new building at the Erie-Ottawa Regional Airport in Port Clinton on the Marblehead Peninsula.

The new museum houses a growing museum of aviation heritage memorabilia and nostalgia pieces which should become an impressive collection in the coming years.Ford Tri-Motor Construction

Currently there are several major projects at the museum. First is the construction of Ford Tri-Motor that is being built from original jigs used to construct the Tri-Motors when they were last manufactured. Watch as the plane slowly takes shape as volunteers painstakingly fabricate the parts and structure inside the massive hangar.

Liberty AViation

In 2010 a flyable World War II North American B-25 Mitchell Bomber was acquired and was used to train crews to fly this historic aircraft. After going through a comprehensive restoration, the plane is now on display at the museum.

Tin Goose Diner

Also part of the new museum is the Tin Goose Diner, an authentic looking diner reminiscent of by-gone days that overlooks the airport.
